If you have installed Ubuntu on your hard disk, boot to the desktop, then insert your live CD.

A popup window will ask you that a repository has been detected and ask you if you want to manage it with Synaptic Package manager, or something like that, => answer yes and it will add the live CD to your repository after opening the Synaptic package manager.

Then you can go to the Tools menu of Synaptic and go to repositories

In the first tab (Software sources) you should see the live CD checked. If you don't have internet access at all, you may uncheck all the repositories download from the internet (do not forget to recheck them whenever you'd got internet access), thus the system won't try to download anything from the internet.

After that you may search for openoffice.org and install writer, calc and impress (the OpenOffice.org installation from the live CD only comprises those modules from the full OpenOffice.org suite). There could be also the draw module as well.

Once you've found them, you may check them for installation (if they are shown as not installed) or for complete reinstallation if they are shown as installed but you did something wrong with them.

Regards

Go to
Menu -> System -> Administration -> Softwares Sources
Click Third Party Software tab
Then “Add CD-ROM…” button
insert the ubuntu cd in your drive and after it loads the cd source in your sources, close the dialog.

Then go to your terminal and type :

sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install openoffice.org

Can you help with this problem?
