in terminal entered "wget -q http://eeebuntu.org/Eeebuntu.key" then "sudo apt-key add Eeebuntu.key" however when i go to type in my password the keyboard does not work in the terminal therfore i am unable to complete the command

Yes, a lot of people don't realise that the keyboard can recognise characters typed in without showing *s on the screen. It does make entering the password a fair bit more secure and is a design feature that was left out of the gui equivalents because people are too used to insecure Windows systems and really need those *s

Errr, someone even recorded a YouTube video of "not being able to enter his password" which should be saved for posterity because although we have all (almost) done it at least most of us had the sense to ask for guidance or try out the password & see what happened rather than assume it was broken without even googling for an answer lol

I wish i worked in the same office as Mr YouTube because practical jokes like turning the kettle off at the mains or turning the water cooler tap around could provide endless hours of amusement
