bios clock changes

Asked by robert milnes

I have windows 7/vista on one hard drive and ubutu on another. When i switch to the uibuntu o/s
my BIOS clock changes every time (about 4 hours ahead). i also have this setup on 2 other computers
and they do the same thing. This computer has an asus mobo and the others have intel mobos ,
so i constantly have to reset the BIOS clocks before i open windows 7/vista. Any thoughts?

You posted this question to a list about Ubuntu One which is a client that runs on Ubuntu. It sounds like the trouble you're having is not related to this client. However, I know how difficult it is to find help on launchpad for ubuntu itself since it's so huge.

Why I've found is that http://ubuntuforums.org often is the best place for these questions.
For your situation, it sounds like your experiencing a problem related to outdated BIOS.

john, i just googled " ubuntu clock" and the first post that popped up
told me disable the UTC setting. I had no idea what this was when i did
my initial install. That solved the problem on all my computers
