Uploads are extremely slow

I've finally setup my ubuntu one account and moved files from my dropbox folder to the ubuntu one folder. However, it seems like the uploads to the ubuntu one servers are extremely slow. It's been a few hours and only about 1000 files have been uploaded out of 3000+. Dropbox has done this in a couple of hours at most on my broadband connection.

Is the slowness due to everyone trying out Ubuntu One at the same time? What are plans to speed up the servers? Lastly, why should I switch from Dropbox to Ubuntu One, besides the fact that U1 will be more tightly integrated, if the speed will be slower?

I am experiencing a similar issue, but not sure what the reason is.

Me too, dropbox is instant. ubuntuone is slow.

On top of that when I'm not syncing anything it runs in the background eating up a small % of cpu space, unlike dropbox which you can't see at all.

Same issue here. Talking about less than 10 MB of data. I created the directories in my home machine today and waiting for it to sync up to my other laptop. Its been about 3 hours and the update seems to be going on file by file. Taking quite a bit of time...

  Not sure if its an issue with my configuration or a one off issue or this is because of server load.
