What should I do when the window decorator crashes?

It sometimes happens on my system that the window decorator crahes and I lose the window borders etc.
I currently solve this problem by firing up a terminal by pressing Ctrl + Alt + t, and then entering unity --reset.

This works, because it restarts Unity, but has the annoying downside that all my Unity-related settings also get lost. Is there a more convenient command?

I found it out myself, sorry for the inconvenience.

Use unity --replace.

When that happens, I've been running 'gtk-window-decorator' and that takes care of it, too. It might be a little less disruption...or it might be about the same thing; I haven't tried 'unity --replace' yet.

Hopefully the fix for bug 1019337 will reach Quantal soon, and this won't have to be such a regular habit. I've been thinking of making a .desktop file for it, so I can run it from the regular Dash, and not just Alt-F2. :-)
