Unity bar and system tray disappeared
Hello.
I don't kow why or how, but the Unity Launcher/Bar and the systray have disappeared.
I use 12.04LTS 32bit running on a desktop PC.
Any hints how to fix this?
Is this the issue I read with ccfs and Unity Plugin enable? After enabling do I need to restart my PC?
Thanks in advance

It's probably an issue with your graphics driver. What's the model of your graphics card? H ow did you install the driver?
To get the model open a terminal (CTRL+ALT+T) and type
lspci
and look for something resembling "vga," "vga controller," or "graphics."

VGA compatible controller: NVIDIA Corporation G86 [GeForce 8400 GS] (rev a1)
Well I didn't do anything at that time with the driver. Could this be done by the System Update?

Ubuntu for the past few versions have disabled Jockey which has been THE way to install graphics drivers.
Open up a terminal and type "sudo apt-get install jockey jockey-gtk"
Once installed run "jockey-gtk" and a box will pop up and (hopefully) will list a few proprietary drivers for your graphics card. Select the recommended one (not post-release updates) and select "activate."

Well, actually I tried to do what you advised via System Settings --> Additional Drivers, but it didn't work out for me.
So the next thing I tried was Ubuntu reinstallation.
Thankfully the dpkg --get/set-
Thanks for the support
