RE: wubi installer: explain desktop choices

Asked by averla capirossa

What do the Desktop Environment Choices--Ubuntu, Ubuntu Netbook, Kubuntu, Xbuntu,Mythbuntu--denote?

I'm working on a desktop PC box, and have installed Ubuntu to D-drive using wubi.

I want Ubuntu to run within a window in Win XP. So far, I see that by selecting "Ubuntu," I must reboot to get into Ubuntu.

Which of these choices will give me access in a window?

Thanks.

Then you can install virtualbox in Windows and virtualize Ubuntu, this will run both OSes at the same time. If you have a decent system then you can use Ubuntu with full Gnome, or Kubuntu with full KDE desktop, if you have a not so great system then I suggest you use Lubuntu as it will consume fewer resources.

Xubuntu uses XFCE as the default desktop environment
