WUBI - Windows Dual Boot

Good day, firstly - absolute NOOB to Linux and UBUNTU.
Kit: HP 530 running windows XP Pro
Downloaded WUBI and installed, restarted system and windows dual boot option did not happen.
Question: is the dual boot process automatic (does windows see the dual and automatically give the option to choose boot sector) or is this a manual process, hold down f key to initiate?

It's automatic. In some cases the 'time to display operating systems' fails to be set. In rarer cases, the Ubuntu entry is missing.

Please right click on 'My Computer', select 'Properties', 'Advanced' tab, 'Startup & recovery' settings. Check that the 'Time to display operating systems' is set to 10.

If the timeout is not zero, click to view/edit your boot.ini, copy and paste it back (don't make any changes to it).
