Scheduling Playtime

Asked by Frederick Hoyt

Hi, I use timekpr-next to manage my son's computer use. Is it possible to specify a schedule for playtime separately from the regular schedule? I would like to be able to set up timekpr so that my son can only access the playtime applications outside of his school time. If not, is this something that could be added to timekpr? Thank you so much!

Yes, this is already possible. You need to configure school time intervals as unaccounted (∞) and un-check "Allowed during "∞" intervals". In this way the school time is not accounted towards users limit and PlayTime is not allowed during school time.

For example, lets assume that school starts ar 9:00 and ends at 14:00.
You can configure interval 9-14 as unaccounted (∞), 14-20 as normal interval, configure time limit 4 hours as allowed time and 2 hours as PlayTime, un-check "Allowed during "∞" intervals".
This way, user will be able to use computer from 9-14 without PlayTime, from 14-20 he can use computer in total for 4 hours and only 2 hours can be used for applications configured in PlayTime list.
